It is also nice that they include the other kids too. He also likes getting the mail while he is in the hospital. She continues to have various medical problems related to her leukemia (6 years remission) and it is wonderful to see her light up the way she does. She keeps all of the cards and trinkets that are sent to her and will look at them when she’s having a bad day. She asks every day is she got ‘Angel Mail’. “ Suggestions: “Keep up the great work!!” ~From Elizabeth S. As you know, Chemo and radiation and blood transfusions are no fun. Her brothers also enjoyed their packages as a lot of time went into Libby’s care. We told them the presents were from Libby’s angels.” How has it helped? “To see Libby get so excited and smile at opening the box and ripping the paper was priceless. You made her feel special, and it was a special bonding time between Libby ad her two brothers. Thanks for the years of support Char, your project blessed all of us.” ~From Ashley S’s Mom~ What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? “How they sent cool stuff in the mail and it’s always a surprise because you don’t know what it is.” How has it helped? “It’s an extra thing you get once in a while that you know people put a lot of work and effort into.” ~From Alyse’s Mom What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? The love and care behind it, teaching and showing others to pass on the love and care, specially the children. Hopefully they will continue to help as adults and continue the trend. We love knowing that there is a group of people, young and old, thinking and praying about our situation. How has it helped? It has put a smile on my daughter’s face many times. That unexpected package or card that has come in the mail or dropped at the hospital room has shown up so many times just when it was needed. My daughter loves the cards and small crafts other children make because they care about her. To her it has been felt like a hug many, many times. Thank you! ~From Felix’s Mom~ What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? Little notes and gift from Teen Angels. Parties at the Hospital. How has it helped? Makes Felix feel special. Felix loves getting mail. Puts a smile on his face. Thank you so much. What a wonderful non-invasive organization. We love you and your hugs. ~From Seth’s Mom~ What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? That it exists! These children once home from long hospital stays, are bored and depressed and a little mail can brighten any day. Family and friends get all too busy and resume normal life quickly but not organizations like this. They are never too busy. How has it helped? Smiles achieved when nothing else worked. We believe in angels before diagnosis but now we know they exist and live in our daily lives. ~From Alexa’s Mom~ What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? 1. You do this for any child and don’t ask for anything in return. 2. It lets us know people we don’t know, care and especially are praying. 3. It’s fun for Alexa (& family) to open up your boxes full of surprises!!! Alexa really likes to open up the presents because it shows people are thinking about her. Thank you for all you do! ~From Henry’s Mom~ What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? The goodie boxes on the holidays. All the prayers and words of encouragement. How has it helped? Gives my son something to look forward to and puts a smile on his face. ~From Hollyn’s Mom~ What do you like about Project Angel Hugs? Everything. We especially like the inclusion of the siblings. How has it helped? It’s brightened her days and helped her sibs feel important. Project Angel Hugs Rock! Thanks for everything – it has meant so much! |
