My Polka Dot Dress Party
The Polka Dot Lady Strikes Again!! -On July 13, Dione Knop held her 6th Annual My Polka Dot Dress Party at Lakeshore Lanes. The following week she delivered Two Huge totes of toys, games and all kinds of fun stuff along with a wonderful check. What an AMAZING lady to survive her own battle with cancer and turn it into a yearly celebration with the proceeds going to Project Angel Hugs!
Project Angel Hugs was nominated by Karen Micoliczyk, who works for Trustmark Insurance Co. as a candidate for this year's award. On August 2, we were notified that we were chosen as the recipient! I spent a wonderful afternoon meeting people who worked for Trustmark and also meeting a girl from our program. Anna T along with her family were in attendance. Thank you Trustmark for your Awesome Support!
Johnsonville Sausage Interns
On July 25, the Interns of Johnsonville Sausage Company held the Internville Annual Brat Fry. This is a company event and all workers of Johnsonville participated in the “Brats for Tots” picnic. You guessed it - they picked Project Angel Hugs to be the benefactor for all of the proceeds from the event. Those industrious Interns delivered a check that will cover one of our Holiday gift box mailing. Thank you Interns! Thank you Employees of Johnsonville Sausage!
On August 24, at Deland Park in Sheboygan, we witnessed the first Annual Burpee Run. The run is a 5-mile run and had participants doing 10 burpees every mile. Project Angel Hugs was chosen as the beneficiary of the run. Our part in the run was help with registration, hand out water and to cheer on the runners. It was a beautiful day spent on the shores of Lake Michigan. The runners ran to Northpoint, back to Deland park then around the Yacht Club down to the boardwalk where they crossed the 8th Street Bridge ran past all the shops and out to the south pier then all the way back to Deland Park.
